  • Overview

Even one exacerbation can lead to an accelerated decline in lung function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),1 which is why it’s important to continue to explore opportunities to manage them. Drs Nina Maouelainin and Jeffrey Barry join Dr Charles Turck to share their insights on the impacts of exacerbations, as well as barriers to diagnosis and management strategies that can help improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with COPD. Dr Maouelainin is an interventional pulmonologist and serves as the CEO and president of Lung Health Services in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Dr Barry is a pulmonologist at UC San Diego Health-La Jolla, Hillcrest, and East Campus Medical Centers.
